DR. OLUMIDE ABIMBOLA AJAYI holds a Ph.D. in Agric Economics, Planning and Management from the University of Ibadan. He is currently the Executive Director the Africa Leadership Forum (ALF); Director of Business School Netherlands International (BSNI) Nigeria; the Programme Director of the Central Bank of Nigeria - Entrepreneurship Development Centre, South West. Prior to this time, he has worked in various executive capacities in the private sector in addition to holding junior research and teaching positions in the University of Ibadan.

He possesses very robust experience in key development areas such as enterprise development and empowerment, gender, conflicts, governance, economic development, Water and SMEs activities. He is an administrator, trainer, mentor and author. He has written and contributed to some books and scholarly journals. He had in the past consulted for the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), and Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS), Federal Government of Nigeria, International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF), UK, Femme Africa Solidarite (FAS), Geneva and other organisations. He is Trainer for the UNDP’s Gender and Economic Policy Management Initiative (GEPMI).

Dr Ajayi is a Fellow of the Centre for Applied Studies in International Negotiation (CASIN), Geneva, Switzerland and the International Academy for Leadership, Gummersbach, Germany. He was on the Steering Committee of the World Bank international Essay Competition between 2006 and 2011. In addition, he has also served on several expert groups such as African Union Gender Working Group (2004), Task Force on Common Agricultural Policy for West Africa (2004), FIX NIGERIA Working Group (2006), UN Global Compact Coordinating Group for the Annual Forum of Local Networks (2006-2008).

His recent activities include the production of the “The Roadmap for African Women’s Decade: 2010-2020” for the African Union in 2009, “Gender Mainstreaming in Africa (2000-2008): Lessons Learnt and Opportunities for future Engagements(2008), Design of Performance Monitoring Index for the SDGEA (The Solemn Declaration Index) sponsored by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA),

Training and BDS Manager
 

SAMUEL OLUFEMI ADEBIYI is a 1979 first-class honours graduate of University of Ibadan, Nigeria.  He also holds the best 1981 Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from the same university.  He joined the Central Bank of Nigeria in 1981 as an Assistant Economist.  His distinguished performance made him one of seven professionals from the Bank seconded to pioneer the Nigerian Export-Import Bank.  He left NEXIM Bank for First City Monument Bank Plc as Head of Economic Research and Corporate Affairs.  He left the bank as Group Head, Corporate Services to start R&S Consulting Limited, which handles briefs in areas such as small business finance and development, economic policy and research, as well as financial analysis.  Some of the clients include the African Development Bank, Central Bank of Nigeria, international development partners and government agencies. 

Femi once consulted briefly for the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), which he later joined as pioneer Director of Enterprise Promotions, Management and Extension Services.  Femi was for many years a facilitator to the Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC) while in the banking system.  He has also spoken at major economic policy forums, and has many published papers to his credit.  Apart from being a former university scholar, Femi was the first African to earn the International Certificate of Excellence of the United Kingdom’s Federation of Oil, Seeds and Fats Association (FOSFA).  

Some of the overseas courses Femi has attended include ‘Trading in Commodity Physicals and Futures Markets in Developing Countries’ at the City University Business School, London; ‘Agricultural Planning and Rural Development in Africa’ at the United Nations Institute for Economic Development and Planning, Dakar, Senegal; ‘FOSFA Trade Education Course’ (FOSFA – Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Association), Brunnel University, Uxbridge, West London; ‘Developing Markets for Business Development Services (BDS)’ at the Springfield Centre, Durham/Glasgow, United  Kingdom; ‘National Study Training-Tour of Small Business Development’ in  Malaysia; ‘Fourth Commonwealth-India Small Business Competitiveness Programme’: Chennai, India; ‘Small Business Counselor Certification Programme’: Acadia Centre for Small Business Entrepreneurship, Acadia, Canada; ‘Training on Entrepreneurship for SMEs Development’ at the International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development; Ahmedabad, India;’ and training on Eliminating Rural Poverty: the Israel Development Experience at NISPED, Beer Sheva, Israel.  He has also attended many local courses, including two at the prestigious Lagos Business School.

Femi is married to Ayorinde, and their marriage is blessed with children.

SHAKIRAT MODUPEOLA RAJI is the Head of Finance Africa Leadership Forum (ALF) Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria.

Shakirat Raji was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State. She acquired Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) in 1997. She attended Owo Polytechnic now Rufus Giwa Ondo State where she earned Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in 2000. She also earned Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 2010 from University Of Lagos, She became an Associate at Chartered Institute of Management Accountants Nigeria (CIMA) in 2011.

 

At the ALF, she arose from the position of Assistant Accountant to Head of Finance in 2003. She has been responsible for the management of finances of the forum and other businesses owned and managed by the organisation like The Temperance Hotel since 2003. She was one of the three Executive Managers of The Temperance Hotel, one of the business arms of ALF up till year 2011.

 

She has handled several projects for ALF in the perspective of management of donors’ funds and retirement of project expenditures for both local and international programmes like Africa Women Forum (AWF) sponsored by International Organisations like United Nations for Development (UNDP), NACA and others.  African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) sponsored by African Union (AU), UNDP held in several countries in Africa. Also,

 

She has handled Democratic Leadership Workshop Training (DLTW)/ Parliamentary Support Programme (PSP) sponsored by Norwegian International Agency for Development (NORAD) from 2005- 2013. She was in charge of the financial disbursement for the program Economic, Social & Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) held in Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya between 2006 & 2007. She was responsible for fund management for the Entrepreneurship Development Project funded by Central Bank of Nigeria, 2008- 2013.

 

She is very disciplined at maintaining organisational policies and ensuring strict adherence to donors preferences majorly on funds utilisation and budget/expenditure monitoring. She handled the entire financial administration of the Entrepreneurship Development Project sponsored by Central Bank of Nigeria between 2008 & 2013. In addition to her primary duties as Head of Finance, she is currently coordinating the administrative department of the organisation.

She has delivered two papers titled “Financial Statement For non- For – Profit Organisation “Practical Experience delivered at one of the seminars of National Accounting Standard Board (NASB) and Explanations to the “Amendments to the Personal Income Tax Act 2004”.

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager
 
   

AWOGBELE AYODEJI AWOGBENLE was born on 2nd March, 1974; he had his secondary education at the famous St. Gregory’s college, Obalende, Lagos and later proceeded for his B Sc in International Studies at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria, and a Post-graduate degree in MA Peace Research and Conflict Studies at the University of Ibadan in 2003.

Ayodeji is a certified professional in Conflict Analysis by the United States Institute of Peace USIP, and a Civilian Peace-keeper with trainings at the Nigeria Army College of Logistics (NACOL), Lagos and the Legon Center for International Affairs (LECIA), Ghana. Ayodeji started his professional career in 2004 with the African Centre for Contemporary Studies; a development based non-profit organisation in Lagos, where he worked for three years before joining the Africa Leadership Forum in 2007 as a Research Officer/Analyst and Training Specialist. Ayodeji holds a strong conviction that the solution to the endemic challenges ravaging the continent of Africa today lies in the sustainable development of its citizens. 

Assistant Manager BDS
 
   

Abayomi Orungbamade is an Assistant Business Development Manager on the CBN Southwest Entrepreneurship Development Project. He served as a Business Development Manager with Tempo Starch and Glucose, a manufacturing company, where he worked in dual capacity as a change manager. Prior to the position as Business Development Manager, he worked as an Enterprise Development Specialist on the CBN-EDC project in Lagos. He worked with the Royal Bank of Scotland as a Customer Service Adviser. Prior to the job at the bank, he worked as New Business Administrator at Skandia Investments UK, an assets management company. Mr. Abayomi also worked with Fate Foundation as an Enterprise Promotions Coordinator. He also has experience in industrial catering, having worked with Allied Thrust and Systems as a supervisor and facilities manager..He is also trained in gender mainstreaming and responsive budgeting.

He has a first degree in Business Administration from the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria and a post graduate degree in Marketing Management from the Southampton Solent University. The depth of his experience is varied, with competence in knowledge management systems design, conceptual and strategic analytical evaluation of strategic and operational matters. He is also a capacity building volunteer for the Youth Business Initiative (YBI).

 

Assistant Manager Training & Partnership
 
   

Mr. Popoola Ebenezer Olufunso is currently the Assistant Manager, Training and Partnership at Africa Leadership Forum, Ota, Ogun State. He was a Business Development Specialist and later Head, Internship, Marketing and Mentoring Unit in the Central Bank – Entrepreneurship Development Center, South West, Nigeria.  He had worked in diverse positions as a professional in Marketing, Franchise Management, Administration, and Development Work in a wide spectrum of Manufacturing, Financial Service, Fast Moving Consumer Products, NGO and Development terrains.

‘Funso Popoola is an entrepreneur with involvement in Agri-business, Training and Capacity Development sub sectors.  He is passionate about Youth Leadership and Capacity Development, Coaching and Change Management.  He founded Thelims Investment Limited, Thelims Training Systems and Global Future Leaders Network (a Christian NGO).

He holds the degree of Bachelors of Agriculture in Agricultural Economics (B.Agric. Econs.) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Federal University of Technology, Akure). He is a Fellow, Institute of Supervision and Leadership.
He is married to Titilola and they are blessed with children.
